Your chance to make a difference in your community
The Parish Council plays a vital role in representing the interests of residents, addressing local issues, and making decisions that directly impact the community. This is your chance to be at the forefront of local governance, influencing policies, and working towards enhancing the quality of life for everyone in the area.
The responsibilities of a Parish Councillor are varied, but ultimately rewarding. You will have the opportunity to get involved in matters such as planning and development, local amenities, community projects, and much more. Whether it’s preserving green spaces, improving local infrastructure, or advocating for the needs of the residents, you can be the voice that drives positive change.
No prior experience is required to become a Parish Councillor. What matters most is your passion for serving the community, your willingness to listen to others, and your commitment to collaborative decision-making. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals from all walks of life to come together and contribute their unique perspectives, skills, and ideas.
If you’d like to become a Parish Councillor, the first step would be to attend one or more of our meetings as an observer, or to get in touch with one of our existing Councillors or clerk who can explain what’s involved. Being a Parish Councillor is a part-time commitment that many of our Councillors manage around full or part-time jobs, and family and other commitments.
